“ Wow, what a wonderful night! We had a party for my husbands birthday last night at the Oakland location of Kitchen on Fire, and it was perfection from start to finish. The booking was easy and the communication between booking and the event was perfect. I went early to take some wine and decorations and they were there 2 hours before to meet and greet me. Once the party started, we were given some cheese and cold cuts to take the edge off the hunger while we were prepping. Chef Anthony was superb. He was flexible to how we conducted the event, letting us do as much as possible on our own, while imparting his extensive experience to make us better cooks! We came away with many little tips and tricks to make cooking at home easier, safer and more fun. We chose to make 4 small plates which were Asian themed. We make Thai larb, Fresh Spring Rolls, Fried rice with Shrimp, and Chicken pot stickers. All the ingredients were set out on the work tables and we broke into groups to do the final chopping and prep with Chef hopping from group to group to make sure we didnt goof anything up. Finally time to go to the fire to make perfect browned but tender pot stickers, spicy and flavorful larb, and tasty fresh fried rice. We ate the dishes as we cooked and it was plenty of food to satisfy us all. We brought our own beerwine, but quickly realized we needed all our senses to do the work and not cut off any fingers! I cannot say enough about what an enjoyable and fun evening this was for all the guests and my husband on his special birthday. I highly recommend this venue for your next event or party you will have a great time while learning some new cooking skills! ”

“ Wonderful experience here as part of a 20person corporate offsite. Chef Gabby was a master of both the kitchen and the witty comment, making the evening both educational and entertaining. Together we made a fantastic 5course meal using some interesting ingredients. The staff had the hardtoprepare items all ready to go for us, allowing us to focus on making it all come together. The kitchen was clean and wellorganized and the staff even accommodated different food allergies among our group. Would love to do this again! ”

“ This review is long overdue I cant say enough wonderful things about Kitchen on Fire. Ive had the pleasure of attending both their inperson and online offerings, and both were wonderful. Chef Mat guided us through Kitchen on Fires Night in Florence about a year ago, and we still make recipes from that evening to this day. He was a great teacher, and did a wonderful job of making everyone at every skill level read Im a beginner and my partner is more advanced feel welcome and excited about what they were contributing to our groups meal. More recently, my partner and I attended Michael Cecconis Cocktails for the Holidays course and we had a blast. We learned so much about making stellar cocktails from Michael, and appreciated both the notesingredient list sent to prepare for the courses online version as well as the onthefly substitution suggestions Michael was able to provide. All in all, we had a ton of fun with both of these courses, and cant recommend them highly enough. Hats off to Chef Mat, Michael, and all the folks at Kitchen on Fire who make it happen. ”

“ I went to a vegan cooking class with Chef Terry. I had a wonderful time! The class was a good size, 9 people, which is a great balance between meeting new people 1on1 instruction with the chef. I learned a new skill working with tempeh that encouraged me to continue growing that skill at home. Chef Terry prepared a really good and varied menu, so Im happy that I have those recipes for the future. My one recommendation is to have 1 or 2 assistants to help with simple requests, like finding spices, oils, measuring instruments. Ive taken other classes which have as many as 1 assistant per station, which I think is a bit much, but it means the instructor focuses on cooking questions rather than troubleshooting and material gathering. All in all, I had a great time and will visit again. ”
